The plane shook from side to side and the passengers looked at each other in horror with faces as white as bone.
None of us knew if this would be the end.
“I’ve been on a plane many times but have never experienced this kind of turbulence” I thought. Then the front of the plane tipped down and I felt the cheap airline food want to come up as we dropped for several seconds. We braced ourselves for the worst as our plane approached Munich Airport.
Minutes later we were on the ground laughing. We had cheated death once again.
That’s the true account of what actually happened in Germany the other night. I’m still alive and well and with more reason than ever to live out my dreams and accomplish my goals this year.
It’s a funny thing, but why do we only reconsider our actions and our life’s goals when in the face of death?
My life didn’t flash before my eyes like many people say, instead I thought of everything that I had planned to accomplish and didn’t. Time is a strange thing and it constantly escapes us. But if we take a different approach we can make time stand still. If you’ve ever been “in the zone” you know what I’m talking about.
When we live with purpose and are living in the moment time stands still and we feel fully alive.
I’m still not 100% sure what makes me happiest in life because there are many simple pleasures of life which I enjoy but what I do know is that I’m not always in pursuit of my dreams and I realize that there is much more that I could do to “fully” live.
I want to recommend a book to you that I just finished. I think it will help you set out on a path that will help you feel more alive and take a new outlook and approach toward life. I read half of it on the way here (Spain) and I just finished it today. This book has been translated into 60 languages and has sold 65 million copies in 150 countries.
It’s not the impressive numbers that make this book such a great read, but it’s the important message it carries. Here’s a link to Amazon where you can pick it up.
Enjoy and realize that everyday you wake up breathing is a miracle and a success in itself.
